Rockin' Christmas Tree

What was I thinking when I agreed to this crazy life of mine?!!! It has made it hard to have time to time to bake, sew, and clean. Then there is the holiday decorating.

Well, early Sunday morning, when I should have been sleeping, but didn't rotate the laundry soon enough and had to wait for the blanket to dry, I was catchin' up on some blogs that I LOVE to lurk read when I came upon a most beautiful sight.

Anniethology posted up her superb Christmas decorations. She has great taste. Her decorations are so incredible that I would want to come visit her and bask in her talent.

Well I am not so talented. Now in years past I have done some nice stuff. I have had time to spend days decorating for Christmas. This year has not been the case. I forgot that I am really not superwoman and signed up to do too much. This has resulted in a fair weather Christmas by our jungle standards of previous years.

I got out the tree the weekend before Thanksgiving. Monkey Wrench put the tree together and I spent about an hour fluffing and twisting the branches. The tree sat that way for just over a week. Whilst I was working my late Tuesday shift my daughters came home from school and put the ornaments on the tree. It's easier to do when mom isn't there to say no. :)

They mixed the fancy ornaments with the ones that they had made at school over the years and the Grinch ones from Wendy's kids meals collected, oh- about 6 years ago! Not what I would have done. So I am sitting on the couch and looking at the tree. It looks pretty good for decorators ages 10 & 12 who come from 2 parents who don't have the decorator gene.!

My goal this next week is to get up some Nativity Scenes. I have like 20 + of them in various forms. I love to collect them. We are keeping this Christmas simple so not all of them will come out, but I must have them up. It isn't Christmas without the Lord, and the Creche reminders are one of my favorite parts.

Here is one I found this year. I love that Mary is cuddling her son Jesus. This makes more sense to me than laying him on straw with a piece of fabric across him.

This Native American nativity set was a gift Mr. Monkey Butt asked me to get him for his birthday. So I did. I love that it comes with a light.

Merry Christmas
