Interview

Me: What do you remember from school this past year?
Tree Monkey: Mrs. Hoffman yelling at 5th graders. Mrs. Hoffman reading Trapped in Death Cave for read aloud. Getting extra time for recess. Coloring, art projects, making the calendar. . .that's all I remember.

Me: What do you think will be the hardest thing about moving?
Tree Monkey: Making new friends, going to a new school, going to a new church. Setting up my room.

Me: What will be the best thing about moving?
Tree Monkey: Relaxing when I get moved in. Having my friends come over and play at my new house.

Me: What do you think that you will learn in school this year?
Tree Monkey: Hard math. Reading harder books and moving up the levels.

Me: What do you want to do this next year?
Tree Monkey: Play in a swimming pool. Turn 11. (I think this is a given:)) Make new friends.

Me: Do you think it will be easy to make new friends?
Tree Monkey: Sorta, kinda.

Me: Why?
Tree Monkey: Cause there's people out there that I don't know.

Me: What do you want me to know about the move and your feelings about it?
Tree Monkey: I don't want to move and I'm kinda scared to go to a new school. I don't want to ride the bus. I am happy to get my own room.
