I am grateful for great leaders in the lives of my children.

Tonight my boys were honored at their Eagle Court of Honor with one of their friends. Bro. S conducted this meeting and Bro. A gave them the Eagle Scout Charge. I put these two men in charge and the event was amazing.
The statistic is that only 2% of all young men who join scouts actually get their Eagle rank. In our last ward it is much higher. I haven't been in our new one long enough to know how they match up.
There are many leaders who have been influential in my son's life. Primary teachers, school teachers, Cub Scout leaders, Boy Scout leaders, Young Men's leaders, and parents of their friends. Bishops, grandparents, uncles, aunts, you get the picture.
I have been fortunate to be a part of the Scouting program. I have seen the potential of the young men. I have been privileged to see what the Lord sees in them. I have been privileged to work with them and be part of molding them into the great people that they are.
I am grateful for those who have seen that in my sons.
The mentor that Monkey Wrench presented a pin to was his Teacher's Quorum leader, bro B. His leader told me that my son was his favorite scout. He was a great leader and had a lot of git-r-done in him.
Oldest presented the Mentor pin to Bro S. He was his leader through most of scouting. He had stories to tell about all the accidents that oldest had. It was at least one a year that required a trip to the E.R. I got to the point that when I got "the call" I began to ask "what happened this time?" I joke that the church wouldn't be able to afford him going to the youth activities anymore cause he was costing them so much.

Oldest's good friend Shane also was honored. It's amazing to watch these kids grow up and work through trials, rectify mistakes, and become fine young men. I am grateful that I have the organization of the LDS church to help me as a parent.
