And a Merry Christmas It Was!

Crazy Christmas Eve pictures in our new jammies.
Tree Monkey woke up at 1:30 AM! I hadn't been asleep yet. I sent her back to bed.

Then I got up at 8:30 AM. Tree Monkey and Mini Me were downstairs playing with their Santa gifts.

I love having a family room (albeit unfinished) downstairs. It permits curious, early risers to enjoy while I get to sleep a little longer.

After we opened our gifts to each other, we got dressed, had breakfast,

(Tree Monkey in her monkey robe, covering her monkey jammies and holding her own box of cereal- Waffle Crisp)

(Mini Me holding up a Polly Pocket gift from Tree Monkey wearing her green **she LOVES green** jammies under her new pink sweater from grammie and pap)

and went to my mom's house. We snacked on ham and mom's yummy fresh homemade rolls. We sat and talk, laughed and teased. We opened gifts.

After a while we went to grandma's and visited.

We got home and rested.

Tree Monkey went straight down to the play area and got to setting up her new doll stuff. She put her build-a-bear bear named Kennedie to bed first. She was worn out from traveling all day. She has clothes and a Nintendo DS. She also got a RipStik that she has been riding out in the garage; 'cause there is more room there.

Mini Me played games on her Nintendo DS and then enjoyed Tom and Jerry cartoons that Monkey Wrench had received from his Shelby.

Oldest and Monkey Wrench scored big time in the tool department. They got tools from just about everyone. Different types, too. Stuff they needed to work on their cars and stereo stuff.

(Oldest thrilled with his tool set. Gramma has the pics of Monkey Wrench with his tool set. As I forgot my camera at home . . . grr)

Hubs got a GPS lady that tells him how to get places and when he has arrived. It was great entertainment as we drove around Christmas day. He got a nice jacket, some church shirts, and a tie (he loves to get ties) with Da Grinch on it:) I got him a cheap watch for working in, because he won't wear his nice one for work. I also found him some great church shoes that he can slip on and the boys got him some BBQ tools that say Craftsman and a Rotary Tool.

I got a smart toaster, a new electric can opener, some new apple dish towels, and a sign for above the Laundry Room door that says "drop your drawers here!" Hubs got my favorite watch fixed and a new crystal face on it. My youngest brother and sister gave us rice for our food storage and my mom gave us emergency preparedness stuff so we can update our 72 hour kits.

The greatest gifts that I get to enjoy each year are my children and family members. I love that they are so happy with whatever gifts they get and they find joy in the gift itself. They realize how lucky they are to have what they do.

We are so blessed by the Lord and have so much that many do not.

It is a Merry Christmas.
