Happy Father's Day

There are many father figures in my life. Today I honor all men and will tell you about 3 of mine.

My grandpa taught me to change brakes, oil, video tape, laugh at life, and to be thankful for what I have. He told great stories. I never tired of hearing them and wish he was hear to tell me them over and over again.

My Dad taught me to love ALL kinds of music and especially to appreciate big band and dancing. He taught me the jitter bug and to love camping. He loved the outdoors and took me with him on many hunting trips. He made sure that I was good enough to play 1st chair flute and even though he pushed too hard at times (like making us practice for an hour in the very beginning. It causes headaches cause your body isn't used to using air like that), I am now glad that he saw a vision bigger than I did. He and I had really rough times in our relationship. It ended on a good note and that brings me peace and love when I think of him now.

My husband is my greatest friend, my eternal companion, and a great dad to my kids and many of their friends. He is never sure that he is good enough for others and doesn't always see how great he is. He works hard to support us and I had the honor of teaching him to play as we have traveled to Disneyland 4 times with our kids. He helps me when my health crashes and when I just need to get a grip. I can't sleep as well when he not in bed with me and I really love it when he has the day off. I will do all I can to get out of work just to be with him. He makes my life better just by being with me. I am so lucky and blessed to have this man in my life.

Happy Father's Day to all the Fathers and Men that influence the lives of others for the better.

Great tributes, klin.

Your hubby sounds like he is a great man--I'm sure he knows how lucky and blessed he is to have a great woman at his side.
