I think that U.S.A. is the best place to live. I graduated from the University of Utah with my Master's Degree. I had professors up there who dissed on the USA and who touted the greatness of other countries. I got so fed up with one that I wrote her a note saying that if she hated it so bad that she shouldn't let the door hit her in the butt on the way out.
Now I know that isn't nice. I didn't care about nice when she was using her classroom as a political platform to state how great China is and how bad the USA is. She should have been teaching the content rather than what she was proclaiming.
The US is a place where people can work hard and make something of themselves (hopefully it will remain that way under the new administration). I know and have met others that have a rags to riches story to tell. One is from a fellow student in my grad program who actually found himself in a failed suicide attempt, coming down of a drug high and worked his way to graduate school. NuSkin was founded on rags to riches story where siblings made an investment that paid off.
It isn't easy, but it can be done. Right here & only in the United States of America!
It is a place where you have many freedoms.
These are some of the freedoms I enjoy:
1. Being able to choose my medical providers. Even if I can't afford them, I can still choose them.
2. Being able to disagree with the government and not get killed or tortured for it.
3. The freedom to choose how my children will be educated and where.
4. The freedom to fly my country's flag.
Ok, so there are too many to name here :)
I also am very grateful for the founding fathers that had the wisdom to help us create a great country.
I am grateful to the men and women who have fought, fight daily, and will fight to protect those freedoms. Freedom isn't free AND we are the land of the Free BECAUSE of the Brave. Thank you.

I am not one who is looking forward to the change that has been promised us. I see too many faults with the plans and the outcomes.
So on this great day in which we celebrate out Independence from controlling governments I say to all those who hate the USA- Please don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out. There are many ways out of this country so go pick your fav and live there.
And to everyone else: "Have a great BBQ, or whatever you do to celebrate this day."
I'm going to a parade, and having a BBQ at my house in the evening before the fireworks show. All with my family. Just the way I like it.
Happy Independence Day to Everyone.

Yay! I get to be first to wish you a happy Independence Day! :)
I agree with you...I too love my country and can't stand when people talk crap about it! I also do not look forward to the changes which I believe will limit our freedoms, but I hope for the best, and for God's blessings as we strive to live righteously.
I'm spending the day with my family, too...just the way I like it! :)
Thank you for that lovely something that I found in my mailbox this week! :)
Ditto!!!
I hope you have a wonderful and safe holiday! We will be having a fun little breakfast at the church where the kids will decorate their bikes and have a parade, and we will sing patriotic songs and have a flag ceremony. Then this afternoon/evening we will gather with family and friends to BBQ, have water fights, and set off lots of brilliant and amazing fireworks. And all the while, we'll think of this great nation (even with it's flaws) and how blessed we are to live here, in the land of the free. :)
Happy Independance Day to you!
Amen!!! What a wonderful post! I feel the same way as you do.
We are having a BBQ at my IL's with pools set up for the munchkins. Then we are having our "Not So Special Olympics" where we have races and play games, followed by fireworks.
Happy Independence Day!! I hope you have a wonderful and safe time with your fam!
