Being a parent is often a thankless job. We do many things for our children and some days they just don't care and want more.
There are those moments when a glimmer of hope and love shines through. Those moments when you get thanked by a child, told you are loved, or they do something nice for you.
My friend and former neighbor has an adorable son who has gave her a parental pay day this week.
I, too, have been getting some parental pay days.
Three days in a row I have come home to a clean living room. Yes I said 3!
Today I came home to a very clean kitchen.
Not just my biological children, but also my oldest foster son. Jaguar and my Tree Monkey cleaned up the kitchen today. Their motive? Because they thought it would make me happy to come home to a clean kitchen. How much do they rock? I don't know how to measure it, but they totally ROCK!!!
Yesterday Jaguar got up and promptly did his chores. I was fighting the alarm clock and I heard the vacuum. Seriously. I woke up to a teen vacuuming the entire upstairs.
What do some of your parental pay days look like?

I just want to give your kids a hug! That is so awesome!!!
I love when I wake up and realize that I got to sleep in a little, then walk out to find the girls watching TV together. Usually Cadi will have helped Rori get breakfast and is keeping her quiet so I can rest.
I've been sent to bed by my oldest before, too. When I have a migraine or just don't feel good, she'll tell me to lay down while she watches her sister. She says, "I can make her dinner, we'll have peanut butter and jelly."
Thoughtful kids are awesome! :)
I love those kind of days! That is just so awesome, what good kids you have!
Parental pay days are GREAT. I love the sound of the vacuum when I'm not the one pushing it.
Aww! I love parental paydays!!!
Yesterday it was hugs from a teenaged kid of mine, and a happy phone call from a married kid of mine! :)
Seriously, those kind of days are the best!
