. . . And A Happy New Year!

New Year's Eve was a day of business directed toward getting ready for the party we were holding that night. Each of the children were allowed to invite up to 2 friends to come over. I do not provide transportation to or from our party as my having the party is my way of staying home ALL NIGHT!

Tree Monkey had one friend come over and they played games and feasted on all the food that I spread out. There was a smorgasbord of options.

Crackers with cheese spread, & spinach and artichoke dip
shrimp with cocktail sauce
chili cheese dip to put on tortilla chips
Salsa for said tortilla chips
Little smokies and BBQ sauce
cookies
chips and dip
cheezits
chocolate covered pretzels
twice baked potatoes

Hawaiian Punch
Sprite
Water
Egg Nog

The other kids were not as lucky and did not have any friends that could come.

My cousin came over with her youngest. I absolutely loved having her here. Her youngest is so cute and he and L'il Red got along great. We must set up more play dates with those two. They are absolutely hilarious to watch.

We ate and watched movies. Talked and read Facebook Statuses (or is it statusi?)

After the countdown we went to bed.

Now with my health problems I knew that I would be VERRRRY tired. So we planned that I would rest up.

Rest up I did.

Then on New Year's Day in the evening I got the stomach flu. I have heard many times that there is no stomach flu. That it is always something you ate. Well, according to statuses on Facebook and our experience that.is.not.possible.

I spent that evening, night, and most of Saturday becoming friends with the porcelain throne adorning my bathroom.

I am finally awake and trying to keep stuff down. The pain associated with this was horrendous.
Holy gut hurt!

Most of you may want to skip this next section. It's in smaller font so you'll know when it is safe to read again.

When your gut hurts really bad- a heating pad helps a whole bunch.

When you are to the point of wretching up only the bile that burns and tastes VERY, VERY nasty drink apple juice. It takes away the pain and nasty taste and doesn't make you hate apple juice when you puke it up.

What doesn't come up will come out the other end. No good advice for this. Sorry.

So today I am feeling a bit better. Have taken small bites of food today and drinking warm flat Sprite. So Far so Good.

I am anxious to get back to life and working and having the kids in school. I love me some alone time at home in the day.

Since the hubs got laid off and is looking for a job I am helping him with his resume and stuff. So I won't be alone, but alone with hubs is excellent by my standards.
And he cleans my house while I am working. So wonderful to come home to.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!
