It's about time.....

There has been much going on.

I've had 4 foster sons. I'm kinda burned out due to a Histrionic Personality Disordered mom, so I won't be talking much about this. The short story is she drains everyone around her, sabotages her son's progress, spreads lies about the other youth in my home to make her home look better than mine (I want so badly to remind her that her son was removed from her home, not mine), and treats her son like he is more handicapped than he is. I am done with her and her son. I am also phasing our of foster care for the time being. I want to spend time with just my children, my healthy children, and not worry about stealing and the other problems created by other parents for a while.

I got a call 2 and half weeks ago. The Middle School didn't have a PTA president. The principal asked if I would do this. The words out of my mouth DID NOT match what my brain was thinking. Such a betrayal of my mouth to my brain.  I have 2 foster sons and my youngest daughter there. I was freaking out with stress a bit about 4 days after the call. I prayed to the Lord and told him that he gave this opportunity for a reason. He knows my time constraints and I couldn't do anything without a strong board. I told Him that I would be turning this over to Him to help me accomplish what needs to be done. Of course, He totally came through. I have a full board with 2 Vice Presidents to help me with all the programs that need covering. Lots of volunteers for the committees and I am actually thinking that I might be able to pull this off.

I still have some anxiety when I think of all of it, but then I remind myself of who is really in charge and I can calm down.

My son, Monkey Wrench, and his fiance have reset their date to October 14th, 2010. It's a Thursday so we can use a comedy club for free. Free facility use in fab.u.ous in my book. Their original date was August 7th, but they took a break for a couple of months to make sure and are certain they want to spend the rest of their lives together. They have been dating for over a year and half and they are good together, oh, and they love each other. That's kind of important ;)

Finally got all 6 kids in school. Whew! That was a task. It is nice to have a little time in the day where I don't have a foster child at my side. It was getting a bit tough right near the end of summer. I need some alone time where I can have a conversation that isn't listened to, while I am driving.

So anyway, between all that and work I have been absent from blogging. There have been other things that I could have blogged, but the stress of some of a particular foster son's behavior left me feeling horrible and like I didn't have anything nice to say. So I opted to not say anything at all.

Since deciding to not take more foster kids and not replace the ones that I have as they leave I have felt more peace. I talked with my boss, I work about 3/4 time now, but will be moving to full-time status about January. It will just be my little family and I am ready for the peace in that.

I got MockingJay read. WOW!!! It did not disappoint. I could NEVER have imagined all that happened or the ending. It is great though. No Spoilers here. That is all I'll say.

So my random, rambling post is coming to an end. What have you been up to? I'll try to get around to all your blogs to catch up. I'm still incredibly busy. I miss the down time each night I had to read blogs. It will get there again soon. Just know that I may not comment as I catch up. It may depend on the day and behaviors of the children in my home ;)

You are SOOO much braver than I am...PTA President, wow!

I loved Mockingjay! Hubby man is just starting to read it, and I can't wait to discuss it with him when he's finished! :)

Mockingjay gave me a lot to think about!
Glad you are taking care of your family and that you know your limits.

You must be so busy! My kids start school tomorrow and I'm hoping to update the blog more frequently and comment occasionally as well;). Good for you taking on PTA and getting your committee well staffed. Take it easy...

I think you are wonderful to take foster kids in. It has to be hard! I think it will be great for you to have some down time with just your family.

Way to go at putting things in the Lords hands. Thanks for sharing! I always enjoy stories like that!

Congrats to your son and his soon to be wife!
