On the Craziness of Remodeling

It was the last room in the house to be done. We had already purchased everything we needed. The plan was to have Mini Me Monkey and Tree Monkey stay at my mom's. We would start Wednesday night and tear out the bathroom, be at mom's all day on Thanksgiving, then on Friday thru Sunday we would put it all back together.

Yeah, well you know what they say about best laid plans. We ended up waiting until Friday evening to tear out the bathroom. On Saturday morning the walls got repaired and painted and the tile started. As Mr. Monkey Butt began to install the vanity he realized that the pipes needed adjusting in order for it to fit. So adjust he did. Then he grabbed the wrong size hosing for the toilet. You get the picture.

Here we are on Wednesday morning with one bathroom; that means 6 people sharing the toilet in the master bathroom, 6 people sharing the sink in the master bathroom, and did I mention that the master bathroom is a small 3/4 bath that looks more like a water closet?

Welcome to our world. School and work are a welcome break from the crowded little space.

So tonight the plan is to hook up the pipe to the toilet, put the vanity on, hang the medicine cabinet (does anyone really keep medicine in there?), and then install the counter top and snazzy new faucet.

It will be so nice to get back to having more than one bathroom. It will also be nice to walk by the main bath and see how nice it will look.
