We did our Easter basket exchange Sunday morning. After all the oohing and ahhing I told the kids how I was feeling about the holiday being more about the candy than the Savior. I told them I would like to move away from the candy and baskets and keep the dinner with the family. Monkey Wrench offered this option:
We could put small pictures of Jesus and scriptural references in the eggs and then after the egg hunt we could sit around and read the references and talk about Christ's life.
Spectacular. I wept with tears of joy that my kiddos are okay. The children planned to take care of this next year while I focus on the family dinner.
*sniff, sniff*
