* The baby in your home is not 11 1/2 anymore. He's 7 and he is NOT self sufficient.
* Said 7 year old needs you to get his breakfast, lunch and dinner.
* When aforementioned 7 year old can't find you he will walk into the bathroom to "see if you are in there" whereas older children will talk to you through the door, providing at least some degree of privacy ;) 7 year old is not put off by you sitting on the "throne" either.
* You must remember to carry snacks in your purse. 7 year olds get hungry and when hungry are ornery and whiny- and you hate whining.
* You need to remember to wash and fold his clothes and help him put them away. He isn't tall enough to reach the washer or dryer controls.
* He thanks you for helping him and pouring milk on his cereal and tell you he loves you more, even after you tell him you love him the most.

AUGH! That last one smacked me right in the heart and made my eyes water.
I laughed out loud at the unabashed 7 year old in a bathroom. We live in different worlds---and if you ever want to have just a small sampling of the young kid life again, I have a nearly 2 year old who loves to try and help wipe. TMI? Sorry. You started it.
