I record the show World Strictest Parents. I like this show. So do my kids. Every kid that is in my home while we are watching it has stated that we "should do this show." Yes we should.

This particular boy asked me, "Do you record this show and make the kids watch it just to torture them?"
My reply was and is, "Nope. That's a good idea, though. I actually like to watch it, because in my line of work I don't see parents being parents much. When I watch this show I get to see that there are other parents willing to be parents." He was speechless.
This post reminded me of that convo last week. Kids need parents. They have friends and peers. They NEED parents.
Anyone else with me?

I'm a mean mom and proud of it! I'm totally with you, Klin! ;)
The Infidel Family has their public face and their private craziness. As long as my kids understand that no shenanigans, inconsiderate behavior, or rudeness is allowed the moment we step out of our house we're good.
My kids are too old to spank. We use computer time and other privileges as leverage and for the most part it's pretty effective.
Oh, and I challenge Sariah to a Meanest Mom competition any time she chooses.
I'm the grand poobah of mean mommies!
And I saw Hunger Games in your sidebar. I NEVER pre-order books but Mocking Jay was a rare exception.
We have all our calendars marked. Only one more month to go!!!!
Well, I'm a mean mom, but I believe Elastic could still kick my trash! lol
I'm a strict parent for the most part, but now that my youngest is 15, I can be a friend (now and then) when he has earned it by good behavior! :)
I've seen Elastic in action. She's not kidding.
I am, but she's not.
You are so awesome to do the kind of work you do! I love what you said to that kid! I will have to check that show out. I could use some pointers! I feel like am a mean mom a lot though so I guess I am doing something right!
I'm a mean mom too. My kids have to clean the family room once a week! *Gasp*
