21 years

21 Years ago on October 20th, Mr Monkey Butt and I said I do. We have been together for 22 1/2 years. It started out that we were just going out so that our friends, one a mutual friend and the other my BFF from 7th grade, could go out. They lasted less than 3 months. About 3 weeks and a few dates after our first date we had a convo on the way home where I told him that I was not interested in a relationship, just a friendship. I had just broken off an engagement and he had just broken up with a girl who was the daughter of his mom's friend.

Turns out that marriage is pretty good when you are married to your friend. We've had our ups and downs. We've almost called it quits twice. Couldn't follow through because we just don't see our lives without each other.

We have been through tons together. Including his family trying to break us up for years. Obviously they were unsuccessful.

Some things that we have weathered or done together are:
Struggled with infertility
Had a miscarriage
Birthed 3 healthy children
Adopted one
Traveled to Disneyland 4 times with our children
Sea World 3 times
Universal Studios once
San Diego Zoo twice
Nauvoo, Illinois once
Two Eagle projects- that resulted in taking tons of toys to Pascagoula Mississippi following hurricane Katrina
Graduated 2 from high school
Married 2 children off (one last week and one that didn't last- long story there, I will say that I am proud of my son for doing everything he could to work it out)
Survived him working out of state
Survived my going to college and then grad school
Bought our first home
Fixed up that home
Sold first home and purchased our 2nd home
Dreamed
Cried
Dealt with and grown from my health struggles
Learned to lean on each other and God more than anyone else
Found out that we are going to be grandparents in May
. . .and many more things

For 21 years I have been his Mrs and he my Mr. I wouldn't change that. This life is made better because I have him.
