For the Love of

All God's Children.

This morning the choir sang one of my favorite songs. He Sent His Son. Several years ago I was teaching the 9 year old girls in Primary. My friend was out chorister. She learned how to sign the song and taught us. When I hear that beautiful song I think of signing it, my friend who was so good at her calling, and how much my Father in Heaven wants me to remember that I need ". . . live like His Son. . . "

President Uchtdorf quoted an Article of Faith that I strive to live by. He said "We honor and respect all souls who have loved God, no matter what religion," He then quoted the 11th Article of Faith ending with " . . . let them worship how where or what they may."

One of the trials fo living in Utah is that others don't experience this tenet of our faith. It breaks my heart. I have so many friends who are not members of the LDS church. They add so much to my life and are among my greatest treasures. We share much in common regarding faith, beliefs, family, love of Christ, and a desire to do right. I hope that this conference will help us be more aware of how we impact others. I do realize that for many it is there perspective and assumptions about the church that influence their thoughts. I can't help but feel sad that they feel that way.

Sister Tanner echoed my sentiments regarding how sad it is that we must teach children what sexual abuse is. As I hear the stories of my clients I feel frustration and anger that they had to experience such horror. My biggest challenge is to get them to believe two very important facts, that my children have grown up knowing.
1) I am a person of worth and I can succeed by making right choices.
2) I am not for hurting.

So much more was said and the spirit was so strong. I am just feeling uplifted and at peace, thought there is much work to be done. My strength and resolve are saying bring it on. Let's continue this fight against evil.

(I was unable to watch all of yesterday afternoon's session. The girls had a dance competition that I watch. I'll post video later and tell you what place they took!)
